Mini-Grants are one-time discretionary grants of up to $1,500 made to nonprofits to support projects and initiatives that impact one of the Foundation's five interest areas: arts and culture, education, civic improvement, health and recreation, and social services; or build an organization’s capacity to achieve its mission and sustain itself over time. Capacity building requests may include:
- Strategic planning
- New staff support
- Professional development
- Technology
- Equipment
- Marketing
- Consultation support
There is no deadline to apply for a Mini-Grant. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Grant approvals are recommended by the Grants Committee and approved by the Executive Committee. Decisions are expedited and typically rendered within 30 days.
Eligibility and Restrictions
- Must be a nonprofit organization based in the Foundation's grant making area (see map).
- Request must not exceed $1,500.
- One Mini-Grant per calendar year (except if the organization is a sponsoring partner in a collaborative project or initiative.
- Mini-grants are not awarded to individuals.
