Youth Philanthropy Grant Award for tornado safety

Alexa Brodd has organized a presentation titled “Tornado Safety and Preparedness Program for Kids” as a youth philanthropy project. The North Bend Area Community Foundation presented Alexa with a check for $500 to assist her in preparing the project. The funds will go through Girl Scout Troop 40070.

Brodd and her family survived a tornado one year ago on their family farm

Alexa plans to present the program to North Bend elementary fifth graders, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and her 4-H group. She will use the funds to start a survivor kit and print information pamphlets to give students.

Youth Philanthropy Grants are available through the Fremont Area and North Bend Area Community Foundations. They are looking for projects that help communities grow for the better and give youth opportunities to give of their time talents and treasure for the benefit all. More information can be found at facfoundation.org/YPG or call 402-721-4252.
